Nanjing Shiqi Biochemical Technology Co., Ltd. was founded in 2023. Its core founding team comes from world-class research institutions and universities, including the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the University of Nottingham (UK), and Zhejiang University.
The company has completed a ten-million-yuan angel round of financing. It has set up joint laboratories and an independent R&D center at the Key Laboratory of Synthetic Biology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Jiangbei New Area of Nanjing. In addition, it has established a subsidiary in Henan, deployed a ton-scale pilot plant, and signed an agreement with local coal chemical enterprises to jointly build a 100-ton pilot production line, laying a foundation for the subsequent 10,000-ton facility.
The company’s medium-term goal is to build embedded factories in joint ventures with at least 5 large enterprises in coal chemical, steel, refining, green hydrogen, green ammonia, and green alcohol industries, achieving an annual carbon emission reduction of over 1 million tons. Its long-term plan is to build multiple super negative-carbon factories on its own, realize ten-million-ton CO₂ reduction and conversion, and create a market value of hundreds of billions of yuan.
