Climate change has become one of the most pressing challenges facing humanity. In 2020, China introduced its “dual carbon” goals of peaking carbon emissions by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2060, and later established the “1+N” policy framework, issuing nearly 100 national policies and plans to support implementation. According to expert estimates, achieving China’s dual carbon goals could create a market and investment opportunity worth 487 trillion yuan.Driven by policies and markets, China has already become a world power in ClimateTech innovations. From 2016 to 2022, a total of 558,000 green and low-carbon patents were granted worldwide, of which 206,000 (36.8%) were granted by the China National Intellectual Property Administration. China ranks first in the world both in the number of green patents granted and in average annual growth rate (12.5%).
To support the implementation of China’s dual carbon goals and help address global climate change, the Bluetech Clean Air Alliance (BCAA) and its partners jointly established the “Bluetech Acceleration Platform for Carbon Neutrality Technology.” Through core modules like the Bluetech Carbon Neutrality Pioneers Award, the WIPO GREEN China City Acceleration Project, the China Greentech IP Management Clinic & IP strategic training, investor matchmaking, and industrial demonstration projects, the platform has successfully attracted and accelerated hundreds of China’s leading ClimateTech startups, high-tech enterprises and unicorn companies.
