Guest speech

Guoliang Lv

Guoliang Lv, former deputy director of the China Office of the World Intellectual Property Organization and former director of the International Department of the State Intellectual Property Office, pointed out in his opening speech that in 2013, the WIPO GREEN cooperation platform was established to address climate change and support the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by building a bridge between global green technology providers and demanders, promoting green technology innovation and dissemination. In 2020, Director Xie Hongxing of the Blue Alliance was invited to become a member of the global core committee of WIPO GREEN, with a total of 9 members, and Director Xie was the only member from China, who made unremitting efforts to promote China's participation in WIPO-related affairs. One of the highlights was the introduction of the WIPO GREEN Global Accelerator Program to China, with the first pilot city in Beijing in November 2021. Today's event is also part of the pilot of the United Nations WIPO GREEN Cities Acceleration Project in Beijing. After four years of operation, the Beijing pilot has achieved fruitful results. The high-quality development of the energy storage industry must be inseparable from the strategic deployment and international deployment of intellectual property rights, and it is recommended that energy storage enterprises pay attention to and make good use of the global intellectual property service system of WIPO such as the PCT system, the Madrid system for the international registration of trademarks, and the Hague system for the international registration of industrial designs in the future. It is believed that in the future, Beijing's accelerated pilot will continue to deepen and achieve more results and impact.
