Jiangsu Provincial Academy of Environmental Science (hereinafter referred to as "JSAES") which is an integrated environmental research institution directly under Environmental Protection Department of Jiangsu Province. JSAES mainly engages in public service based research, including environmental planning, environmental impact assessment, cleaner production audit, verification of environmental protection of the corporations applying for listing , environmental project design, environmental policy and strategic research, etc. With strong innovation and development capabilities in the areas of major environmental decision support, organic waste management, air pollution prevention and control, environmental risk and emergency warning and other characteristics have formed disciplines.
There are 217 employees of JSAES in total. Among which 65 are with high professional title or above, 89 are with intermediate professional title, 35 are with doctorates, 118 are with master degree, 12 are overseas returnees. There are 69 registered EIA engineers, 12 registered environmental protection engineers, 47 cleaner production auditors, 1 enjoying special government allowances experts, 2 provincial outstanding young experts, 5 provincial “333 Project” talents in our team. It has won the provincial and ministerial level scientific progress award twice, four second-prize, seven third-prize, four outstanding engineering consulting prizes, two second-prize, four third-prize, one provincial environmental technology Prize, two second-prize, and other two prizes, with the results of dozens of patents in domestic core journals published hundreds of articles.
JSAES, Nanjing University and Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology have been in cooperation with the establishment of a Joint Laboratory of Air Pollution Control. In support of the provincial Science and Technology Department, Environmental Protection Agency of Jiangsu, the complex atmospheric pollution research and control platform has been established. And equipped with the analyser of VOCs, atmospheric particulate matter, conventional gaseous pollutants (NOx, SO2, O3, CO, etc.), elemental carbon and organic carbon, as well as particulate samplers, gas detectors and other offline canister sampling equipments.
