Introduction: India released its National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) on January 10th 2019, setting targets of 20-30% reduction of PM2.5 and PM10 concentration by 2024 for 102 cities. Since then, issues such as the economic costs of the clean air campaign and feasibility of the NCAP targets have attracted significant attention. The report reveals that India is facing a strong opportunity for controling air pollution, and introduces China’s rapid progress in air quality management over 2013 to 2017, and identifies suggestions referencing China’s experience for Indian air quality management efforts currently underway.
