On January 27, 2022, Bluetech Clean Air Alliance (BCAA) and the Greentech Financing Platform (GFP) jointly launched the "Bluetech Carbon Neutrality Pioneers Award”. To find global technology pioneers in the field of carbon neutrality to select and accelerate outstanding enterprises and projects that can improve the process of carbon neutrality in China and the world. From now until March 31, 2022, enterprises can participate in the application. After preliminary screening, internal review, roadshow, expert review and other steps, the award results and ceremony will be held in June 2022 at the annual meeting of the Greentech Financing Platform (GFP).
The selection of the "Bluetech Carbon Neutrality Pioneers Award” will be conducted under the guidance of the selection advisory committee composed of well-known experts in green finance and green technology-related fields. The selection advisory committee is chaired by Dr. Jun MA, President of Institute of Finance and Sustainability (IFS), and the committee members include senior representatives from leading investment institutions, research institutions, international organizations, industry associations and large multinational companies. Dr. Jun MA believes that to achieve China's carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals, we should take more market-oriented means to promote low-carbon transition, focus on supporting the connection between financial resources and green technologies, and strengthen the international competitiveness in a series of green and low-carbon fields, especially in the technical field. This is also the original intention of this award.
Based on the "Bluetech Award" launched in 2015, the "Bluetech Carbon Neutrality Pioneers Award " is focusing on the evaluation of technology enterprises and entrepreneurial teams in new energy, green transportation, energy storage, green building, energy conservation, intelligent manufacturing and other key tracks of low carbon technologies. The Bluetech Award has been carried out for six years, and a systematic evaluation mechanism and a project recruitment and acceleration networks across over 20 countries have been established.
According to Hongxing XIE, Director of Bluetech Clean Air Alliance (BCAA), the award faces the technology enterprises and entrepreneurial teams in the field of carbon neutrality, and a technical expert group will be formed under the guidance of the Selection Advisory Committee. The review will adopt a unified evaluation process and standards, and comprehensive evaluation in terms of technology, IP, market, team and business model will be conducted to select the green and low-carbon enterprises with the most development potential.
The award is also supported by several financial and investment institutions, industry organizations, incubators, accelerators and international partners. "Leveraging financial investment resources to support technological innovations and the rapid growth of technology enterprises in key areas of carbon neutrality, is of great significance to achieving the goal of carbon neutrality. Scientific evaluation and screening will better facilitate and guide the investment directions to companies with advanced technologies and good carbon emission reduction benefits ", said Lijian ZHAO, president of Carbon Trust China and head of Secretariat of Greentech Financing Platform.
As the organizers, BCAA and GFP will work with partners to provide the following support to the winning and participating enterprises:
-Financing Assistance: Assist in matchmaking with lead & strategic investment funds;
-IP Empowerment:Provide IP strategy guidance, build IP barriers, and manage IP risks;
-Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality Strategy: Provide guidance on corporate carbon peaking and carbon neutral strategy to enhance the low carbon competitiveness;
-Industrial Matchmaking: Assist in systematic matchmaking with the industrial ecosystem of strategic partners;
-Demonstration & Publicity:Recommend participating in demonstration projects, including relevant networks and pilot projects under the United Nations;
-Entrepreneurial Community: Assist in joining in the exclusive carbon neutral entrepreneur community.

About: Bluetech Clean Air Alliance (BCAA)
Founded in January 2013, Bluetech Clean Air Alliance (BCAA) focuses on the development of green and low-carbon technologies and industries and accelerating global sustainable development through technology transfer, technology assessment and demos, investment service, IP protection, and policy research. The members of BCAA include companies, research institutes and universities. BCAA formerly known as the China Clean Air Alliance (CAAC), was jointly initiated by ten core research institutes in the field of clean air in China, including Tsinghua University, Peking University and the Chinese Academy of Environmental Planning.
Over eight years’ operation, BCAA has carried out pilot projects in 12 provinces and cities in China, published over 50 policy and market research reports, assessed over 400 advanced clean air technologies from 22 countries, established collaborations with partners across 20 countries. BCAA became an official strategic partner of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in 2019. With the support of WIPO, Beijing Municipal Intellectual Property Office and other partners, BCAA launched the project of IP Enabling Green Technology, and carried out a series of activities and pilot work in the field of green technology intellectual property awareness raising and high-value patent cultivation, including IP strategy trainings, seminars, international transfer of green science and technology, city acceleration project, etc.

The Greentech Financing Platform (GFP) was initiated by the Institute of Finance and Sustainability (IFS) and multi cooperation organizations in May 2021. The platform will make full use of the resources of the Institute of Finance and Sustainability (IFS) and multi cooperation organizations, and work together with scientists and technological innovation enterprises, connect financial resources and support the development of economy and green technology. Members of GFP include financial institutions (PE/VC investors, banks, insurance etc.), green technology enterprises, and domestic and foreign research institutions, scientists and engineers who provide green technology.
