WIPO GREEN Year in Review 2022 | China Cities Green Technology Acceleration Project Had Two Successful Matches in BeijingPost date: 2023-02-07

Recently, WIPO released WIPO GREEN Year in Review 2022, which included two successfully matched projects in the WIPO GREEN City Acceleration Project Beijing Pilot.

In response to China's carbon neutrality strategy, promoting the transfer of green technologies and international cooperation, and supporting China's sustainable development and carbon neutrality goals, BCAA joined hands with WIPO GREEN, to bring the "WIPO GREEN" acceleration project to China in 2021. This project is a global project of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), one of the specialized agencies of the United Nations. It is dedicated to promoting the connection between green technologies and needs, realizing technology transfer, and accelerating the realization of the United Nations’ goals of sustainable development and tackling climate change.

The WIPO GREEN City Acceleration Project's first pilot city was launched in Beijing. With the support of institutions such as the Beijing Intellectual Property Office, Beijing Science and Technology Commission, Zhongguancun Management Committee, and WIPO China office, a series of activities such as technology and need solicitation, matchmaking, and demonstration were carried out in the pilot project. In 2022, the Beijing pilot completed two successful matches, namely the "A circular composting solution to food waste" and the "An Electrical Connection". These two project cases were included and showcased as achievements in the WIPO GREEN Year in Review 2022.
