Recently, the "Kunshan City Square Corridor Distributed Photovoltaic Power Generation Project" provided by GCL Optoelectronics has officially entered the construction sprint stage. As a benchmark perovskite building photovoltaic application demonstration project of GCL Optoelectronics, the project not only injects new vitality into Kunshan City, but also creates a precedent for the distributed application of perovskite in the region, helping the sustainable development of the city to a higher level.
The project is located in the core area of Kunshan City and is an innovative project integrating demonstration, commercial and government public attributes. The total construction area of the corridor is 1,931.123 square meters, the installed capacity of the system is 172 kilowatts, and the annual power generation is expected to reach 156,000 kWh, which will effectively alleviate the tight regional power supply and demand situation. In terms of green and low-carbon benefits, the project will contribute significant ecological value to the city, fully demonstrating the great potential of the integration of green buildings and clean energy. It is estimated that the project can reduce about 100 tons of CO2 emissions per year, and its environmental benefits are equivalent to planting 6,000 to 10,000 trees, quietly adding an "invisible forest" to the city.
The perovskite single-junction translucent module provided by GCL Optoelectronics is the core technical support for the project. As the first perovskite photovoltaic distributed application in the Kunshan region, this innovative module stands out for its efficient conversion rate, aesthetics and reliable stability. The product not only realizes the core function of efficient power generation, but also actively explores the integration of aesthetics and architecture, so that urban public spaces glow with green technology vitality and modern design brilliance, becoming another example of GCL Optoelectronics' promotion of the deep integration of green buildings and clean energy. In this project, the modules are applied to the top of the corridor, which not only ensures good light transmission and weather resistance, but also realizes the two-way balance between lighting demand and stable power generation output. Through the intelligent operation and maintenance system, the modules can monitor operational performance in real time, ensuring efficient grid-connected power generation, further improving the reliability and economy of the project.
The project was officially launched on October 17, 2025, and is scheduled to be completed on November 20, 2025. At present, the project is progressing smoothly and will be officially put into use soon. GCL Optoelectronics and the project investor Suzhou Wudu Energy Development Co., Ltd., the owner unit Kunshan Lexin Construction and Development Co., Ltd., and the design unit Suzhou Guodian Changyuan Power Engineering Consulting Co., Ltd. have worked closely together to provide a solid guarantee for the high-quality promotion of the project. This multi-party linkage cooperation model not only optimizes the efficiency of resource allocation, but also lays a solid foundation for more integrated application scenarios of clean energy and green buildings in the future. GCL Optoelectronics has always adhered to its original intention, devoted itself to technological innovation and project practice, actively practiced social responsibility, and continued to empower the city's low-carbon transformation. Looking forward to the future, the company will continue to expand the integration scenarios of perovskite technology and green buildings, and drive the green energy revolution with scientific and technological innovation. We firmly believe that with the dual help of innovation-driven and multi-party collaboration, photovoltaic technology will illuminate the path of green urban development, and GCL Optoelectronics will also make clean energy within reach and build a better tomorrow for sustainable development with all sectors of society.
