Bluetech winners and finalists demonstrate their technologies in Changzhou and Shenzhen to support local air pollution controlPost date: 2016-01-19

On December 14-17, 2015, CAAC organized technology showcase, match-making tours and workshops for Bluetech winners and finalists in Changzhou and Shenzhen. CAAC has been running Air Quality Management pilot projects with several Provinces and Cities, including Changzhou and Shenzhen, in helping them diagnose their air quality problems, suggesting air quality improvement measures and providing technical support for measures implementation. Based on the technical needs of these two cities, the secretariat of CAAC, the Innovation Center for Clean Air Solutions (ICCS), joined by Energy Foundation China and CAAC international consultants, carried out this Bluetech follow-up activities to introduce the finalists and winners to these cities. These technology delegation composes of 14 technology providers in the fields of VOCs pollution control, diesel engine pollution control and indoor air purification.

On December 15, the Bluetech delegation visited Changzhou Pharmaceutical Industry Park to learn their needs and technical difficulties for waste gas treatment, as well as discuss on future potential business opportunities. According to the post-event survey, some technology providers have already reached intentional agreements with some local companies.

On December 16 in Shenzhen, the showcase and matchmaking activities were focused on non-road mobile emission control technology, including DPF retrofit programs. Representatives from the Bluetech delegation also demonstrated their technologies and answered questions from Shenzhen’s local organizations that are planning to conduct DPF retrofit work for their existing equipment. During the following day, the delegation conducted an on-site investigation on DPF retrofitted road pavers and bulldozers to study their operation statuses.

In addition, the CAAC held the Air Quality Management Workshops for Changzhou Environmental Protection Bureau & Changzhou Academy of Environmental Science, and Shenzhen Environmental Protection Bureau & Shenzhen Academy of Environmental Science respectively on 13th and 16th December, 2015. During the Changzhou’s workshop, CAAC and Changzhou Municipal Government jointly released the “Changzhou Air Quality Management Assessment Report 2015.” The Vice Mayor of Changzhou, Mr. Shi Zhijun attended the press release.
