On January 19th, the Ministry of Environmental Protection announced the 2015 Vehicle Pollution Prevention and Control Annual Report. Motor vehicles have become a key air pollution source, discharging 45.473 million tons of pollution emissions in 2014, including, 6.278 million tons of NOx, 574 thousand tons of particulates, 4.284 million tons of hydrocarbons, and 34.337 million tons of carbon monoxide. China is taking comprehensive measures to raise fuel quality, reduce vehicle usage, and promote public transportation and clean energy vehicles to improve air quality.
