The Ministry of Environmental Protection quietly began publishing air quality forecasts for three key regions (Jing-Jin-Ji, Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta), all provinces (including autonomous districts and municipalities), and 36 cities. The 24- and 48-hour forecasts include the air quality index, air quality level, and expected levels of major pollutants.
