The China Standardization Administration published 11 national standards for greenhouse gas (GHG) management, including general principles for industry enterprise GHG emissions accounting systems and reports and specific rules for ten key industries, including power, iron and steel, and chemical. The standards will help decrease the cost of carbon emissions reductions and provide technical assistance to build a national emissions trading system. The new standards will take effect on June 1st, 2016.
