How to Achieve the Air Quality Attainment in the Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Region?Post date: 2016-05-09

Introduction: Air pollution is one of the most important global environmental issues today. In China, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region (also called the JJJ Region) has the most severe pollution conditions in the country. With EF’s support, CAAC released the report < How to Achieve the Air Quality Attainment in the Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Region?-- Studies on Reaching PM2.5 Standards Based on Scenario Analysis>.This Report focuses on JJJ Region’s air quality after the release of a 2014 report, < Can Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Achieve Their PM2.5 Targets by 2017?> by CAAC. In this study, we used quantitative scientific models to analyze air quality attainment paths, and their struggles and opportunities in the JJJ Region, based on the energy consumption model, air pollution emission inventories and the Community Multi-Scale Air Quality (CMAQ) model.
