CAAC Participate International Conference on China’s Urban Air Pollution Control by IFCEPost date: 2016-06-22

On June 17 and 18, the 2016 Global Forum on China’s Urban Air Pollution Control is hosted in Washington by International Fund for China’s Environment (IFCE). Status- Quo of China’s smog mitigation, efforts and progresses on China’s air pollution control was discussed. Successful experience and innovative technology on controlling air pollution from the US side was presented and new model of international collaboration was on the agenda.

In September 2013 - The State Council of China issued the "Air Pollution Prevention Action Plan" Ten measures to effectively improve the air quality. It proves the action plan works well. The following map shows the air quality comparison from 2013-2015 in China.(Source: CAAC)

It is estimated that the implementation of “Ten Measures of The Air Pollution Prevention Action Plan ”will drive GDP growth by 2.04 trillion RMB. Industries like the transportation manufacture, equipment manufacture will benefit the most.


Dr. Kebin He Dean, School of Environment at Tsinghua University and Mr Hu Tao, China Program Director of World Wildlife Fund (US), both of them are steering committee member of Clean Air Alliance of China(CAAC) were invited as the leader speakers. Mr. HongxingXie Director and Sacretariat of CAAC, presented the opportunities for clean technology development and CAAC’s efforts, including hosting a yearly project of ‘Bluetech Award and Technology Acceleration’to push for the development and utilization of best available clean air technologies in China.

It is the first matchmaking platform on China’s air pollution control in North America and over 150 leading air pollution control professionals attended the meeting. It created a platform for policy makers and technical professionals in China and America for joint efforts on air pollution control.
