East Asia Clean Air Cities (EACAC) InitiativePost date: 2016-05-23

On May 19 & 20, 2016,The East Asia Clean Air Cities (EACAC) Initiative was officially launched at the Northeast Asia Forum on Air Quality Improvement in Seoul, Korea. It is a joint programme by ICLEI East Asia Secretariat and Seoul Metropolitan Government to accelerate local actions against air pollution through regional multilateral cooperation. This is a city-to-city exchange and collaboration program through multilateral cooperation between local governments, partners and solution providers from the academia and industry to establish a regional cooperation mechanism for East Asia cities to tackle air pollution effectively through city-to-city collaboration  and get access to up-to-date information and knowledge on air quality improvement by facilitating the exchange and cooperation between cities, experts and companies.

Clean Air Alliance of China (CAAC) is one of the partners for EACAC. Other partners including Energy Foundation China; Seoul Metropolitan Government Research Institute of Public Health and Environment (SIHE); Atmosphere Engineering Research Lab, University of Seoul; Mongolia International University (MIU); Norwegian University of Science and Technology(NTNU) etc. ICLEI East Asia Secretariat serves as the secretariat of the EACAC initiative to coordinate and facilitate the implementation of activities and programs.
