Disaggregated Coal Combustion is a Hot TopicPost date: 2017-02-15

Emissions from disaggregated coal combustion is a major cause of heavy pollution in Northern China during winter. It is further a difficult problem for air pollution control in China.

In the 14th meeting of the central financial leading group, President Xi Jinping stressed that promoting clean heating in Northern China is an important part of the energy transition and vital to ensure quality of life in rural areas. This will keep the large populations in Northern China warm during winter while reducing the number of smoggy days.

In order to provide policy support for the clean energy transition, Innovation Center for Clean-air Solutions (ICCS, Secretariat for Clean Air Alliance of China) and Beijing Municipal Research Institute of Environmental Protection jointly conducted an investigation in Beijing. By analyzing a typical case of clean energy substitution, the investigation compared the cost input and emission reduction benefits of the existing mainstream clean energy technologies.
