Shanghai Meets PM2.5 Concentration TargetPost date: 2017-01-13

In 2016 the annual average PM2.5 concentration in Shanghai was 45 µg/m3. It has decreased 27.4 percent since 2013 and 15.1 percent since 2015. This means that Shanghai met its PM2.5 target one year earlier than expected. Meanwhile SO2, particulate matter, and NO2 concentrations have dropped respectively 11.8 percent, 14.5 percent, and 6.5 percent compared to 2015. Nine coal-fired power generators have been renovated to reach super-low emission and 1,456 factories have reduced their VOCs emissions.
