Vice Minister Zhao Yingmin invited over 20 media organizations to the conference, briefing them onissues related to air pollution prevention and control. This year will be a key year for air quality as it is the final year of the Air Pollution Prevention and Control Action Plan. The plan was released in 2013 and establishes targets that should be reached by 2017. Mr. Zhao Yingmin answered questions about major challenges for improving air quality in the Jing-Jin-Ji region, energy mix adjustments, household coal substitution, vehicle emissions control, and permitting.
