China will continue to exempt new energy vehicles from the 10% purchase tax for another three years until the end of 2020, the Ministry of Finance said on Wednesday.
The tax incentive covers pure electric, hybrid and fuel-cell vehicles that have obtained sales permission in China, according to the ministry.
China rolled out the purchase tax waiver for new energy vehicles in 2014 to boost the industry and reduce air pollution. The policy was set to expire by the end of this year.
