The opening ceremony of the 13th National Environmental Friendly Science and Technology Competition was held at Tsinghua University on May 17. Tonny XIE, Director of Bluetech Clean Air Alliance of Zhongguancun, was invited as a mentor of the green entrepreneurship group of this competition. In addition, Gang PENG, Vice Dean of Tsinghua University, Quanzhi ZHANG, General Manager of the sponsor Hach Company, Prof. Ye WU and Dr. Deyi HOU, School of the Environmental of Tsinghua University and the other teachers and students from various universities attended the ceremony.
Under the guidance of the Steering Committee of Teaching of Environmental Science and Engineering of the Ministry of Education, the National Environmental Friendly Science and Technology Competition was co-hosted by Tsinghua University, Tongji University and Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology, co-organized by Henan Polytechnic University and China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), sponsored by Hach Company of America, a top competition which faces all the students all over the country in the field of environment. This competition was launched in 2006, and now it has been successfully held for 12 years, aimed at college students in advocating the concept of resource-conserving and environment-friendly. With the form of competition, it encourages students to participate in the construction of the resource-conserving and environment-friendly harmonious society with the iroriginal philosophy of science and technology, manufacturing and innovative ideas. The 13th competition in this year saw a record number of works, with 944 works from 190 schools participating.
As a platform for cultivating innovative talents, this competition provides college students with the opportunities to improve their ability and participate in the construction of environmental friendly society. As a support partner of this competition, BCAA will invite the top groups of the competition to participate the "Bluetech Future Unicorn", helping their innovative products to find more support to carry out their technologies, to accelerate the maturity and development of the technology.
"Bluetech Future Unicorn" is an new session of the 4th "Bluetech Award" in 2018 , aiming to involve more start-up teams to join the Bluetech Campaign, to provide expressway to the selected “future unicorn” for their fast growth in China’s market, as well as shapinga cleaner future with its power of innovation.
