On July 22, 2019,the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) formally approved the Bluetech Clean Air Alliance as its strategic partner to support WIPO GREEN program. WIPO GREEN program is an interactive marketplace that promotes innovation and diffusion of green technologies via connecting technology and service providers with those seeking innovative solutions. As a strategic partner, BCAA will collaborate with WIPO GREEN to promote technology transfer to China and overseas, environmental management experience exchanging, and high value patents incubation for technological enterprises in the area of green technologies.
WIPO GREEN was launched in 2013 to catalyze and accelerate green technology innovation and its transfer to expand the uptake and use of environmentally friendly technologies in support of the transition to a low-carbon future. WIPO GREEN helps to connect green technology providers with technology seekers, such as sustainable access to water or climate-friendly sanitation management. It does this primarily through the WIPO GREEN database. At present, the database features more than 6,800 technologies, needs and experts, and has more than 100 partners around the world, ranging from small start-ups to Fortune 500 companies.
In July 2020, Tonny Xie, Director of BCAA was invited to join the WIPO GREEN core committee. The committee will make recommendations on the strategic direction relevant to the activities and long-term development of WIPO GREEN, priority area and topics, strategic partnerships and operational models and other activities that could contribute to the achievement of WIPO GREEN’s goals and objectives. In addition, the committee can recommend new strategic partners.
