The Third Conference of the CAAC Steering Committee held with success

On January 6th 2015, the third Conference of the CAAC Steering Committee was held successfully in Tsinghua University, under the host of the Steering Committee President Prof. Hao Jiming. Nearly 20 committee members (deputations), guests and personnel of the CAAC Secretariat participated in the conference. The work of CAAC in 2014 was reviewed, and discussions were developed around the future work that could be carried out to better contribute to the air quality improvement in China.









Release of Air Quality Management Assessment Report of Jiangsu Province

December 24, 2014, Air Quality Management Assessment Report of Jiangsu Province was released in Beijing. The Report was initiated by the secretariat for Clean Air Alliance of China (CAAC) and it is the first air quality management assessing report done by a third party in China. The Report systematically evaluated the air pollution status and the challenges in air pollution control work in Jiangsu. It also put forward recommendations for future improvements.









CAAC participated in the Second Working Conference of the Working Group on Green Finance

October 21, 2014 in Renmin University of China, the Working Group on Green Finance initiated by the People's Bank of China Research Bureau and UNEP FI held the second working conference on "The suggestions to the establishment of a green finance policy system". The CAAC Secretariat is in charge of two sub topics and thus participated in this conference.

Organization Members and Experts





There is a new Steering Committee member, who is Chief Engineer/Vice President Wang Jinnan from Chinese Academy for Environmental Planning, and a new Advisory Committee member who is Dr Markus Amann from International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA); there are 9 new registered experts totally.There are 3 new registered organizations. Until 15th January 2015, there are 29 registered organizations and 81 registered experts in total.More details  









Clean Air Technology Expert Network



Clean Air Technology Expert Network was lunched in Beihang University on 25th December 2014, and relevant experts have been invited to join in this network. As one of CAAC professional network, Clean Air Technology Expert Network aims at air pollution prevention and control technology, striving to be a comprehensive technology network in clean air field, to supply a platform to communication, cooperation and actives for various institutes, enterprises and professionals.

CAAC supported the “Clean Air and Responsible  Investment” Roundtable of the Second China SIF
The Second China Social Investment Forum (SIF) was held with success in Beijing on the November 14th, 2014. CAAC successfully supported the roundtable of "Clean Air and Responsible Investment". During the roundtable, the Director of CAAC Secretariat, Mr. Xie Hongxing delivered a speech, presenting the progress of the Clean Air Investors Salon, along with the coming investment analysis report VOCs Management: hundreds of billions of investment.

CAAC Clean Air Management Report


"CAAC Clean Air Management Report" applies CAAC clean air management tools to support local governments (provinces and cities) to conduct systematically evaluations of their air quality management, so as to promote the construction and perfection of the local air quality management system, and support the selection and implementation of clean air management measures. The CAAC Clean Air Management Reports are compiled by CAAC Secretariat in collaboration with cooperative province and city, as well as the experts.






Air Quality Management Assessment Report of Jiangsu Province

The Report was financed by the Energy Foundation, and was carried out with great support of the Jiangsu Environmental Protection Bureau and Jiangsu Provincial Academy of Environmental Science. The Report analyzes the air quality status and the level of challenges in air pollution control work in the year 2013. It also evaluates Jiangsu's integrated air quality management and its efforts on policy making, establishing standards and control measures. The Report was compiled based on the use of two principle tools which are Clean Air Management Index System (Province) and Clean Air Management Measures List. Download








CAAC Knowledge Series


CAAC Knowledge Series" dedicates to introducing scientific knowledge, management experiences (domestic and international), polices & mechanisms, tools, methodologies and research updates in the field of clean air, to support the improvement of China's air quality.                



Curbing China's Air Pollution from Urban Transport
Emissions from transport sector contribute largely to China's urban air pollution (including PM2.5 and ozone). As the soaring of the country's vehicle quantity and fuel consumption, air pollution from urban transport is bringing growing challenges to urban air quality control. This cross-boundary report is the first attempt to integrate urban planning, transport planning, transport management, vehicle and fuel upgrade, regional cooperation, etc., for a comprehensive strategy. It aims at combining international and domestic good management experiences with latest update on Chinese transport air pollution control, and providing pathways to curb China's urban transport pollution.  China Clean Air City Network hold second clean air management training

The second clean air management training of China Clean Air City Network was hold successfully in Ningbo Zhejiang Province on 4th to 5th December 2014. The main issue of this training focused on VOCs control, which is one of the difficult problems in urban air pollution control. Around one hundred air pollution control personnel from 26 cities attended this training. Additonal, Law on Air Pollution Control and Prevention (Revised Draft for Comments) was discussed in groups in this training.    China Clean Air City Network was launched jointly by Clean Air Alliance of China, Foreign Economic Cooperation Office MEP and Energy Foundation.

CAAC Clean Air Management Index System


CAAC Clean Air Management Index System is a comprehensive and systematic tool, which can help cities to evaluate and analyze the performance of cities, and guide the implementation of improvement activities in the field of air quality management and policies. "Clean Air Management index system (Province)" was applied in Jiangsu province pilot project, and Air Quality Management Assessment Report of Jiangsu Province (2014) was produced. Based on that project, CAAC released "Clean Air Management index system (Province)" version 1.0 and application guideline.More detials
